New Photos from the South Pole on the Website

For want of the presence of Kristian and Gregers the editor of the website of the Danish South Pole Expedition is forwarding fresh photos from the South Pole. Of course this is not comparable to having them in person at home among family, sweethearts and friends, but since the weather has decided to keep them down there for a while yet, take a look at the front page and in the photo gallery.

The photos have come to Denmark thanks to Doctor Ronald Kemenski at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station, who quite exceptionally allowed Kristian and Gregers to send a mail to Denmark.

"Everything OK here. As you know, we have food enough and are doing well, but we are a little frustrated at not knowing, when we shall be flown out from here," says Kristian and Gregers.

The communication between Adventure Network International is limited by Kristian and Gregers choosing not to bring along a satellite telephone. ANI, at the same time, has committed itself not to use the different communication lines to the research station, but nevertheless some bits of information get through.

"We get the information at random through different persons - primarily through our new friend Ron, who is a doctor at this station. ANI has been used to the expeditions having had satellite telephones with them, thus being able to communicate directly with the Network, but as before mentioned we have not got such a thing," Kristian and Gregers write.

"Kisses and hugs from us," they conclude.

From the information from the South Pole it appears that Kristian and Gregers have been in very good hands, since Ronald Kemenski has made a thorough examination of the two tired South Pole travellers during the days after their arrival.
